What has Europe ever done for us? It's not an uncommon question and one that is not unreasonable. Europe's contribution to your daily life is not always obvious, but decisions taken on a European level have fundamentally improved thousands of small and big things ranging from cheaper phone calls to European wide health coverage. This site includes an interactive forum.

The European Union at a glancehttp://europa.eu/abc/index_en.htm

The European Union (EU) is a family of democratic European countries, committed to working together for peace and prosperity. It is not a State intended to replace existing states, but it is more than any other international organisation. The EU is, in fact, unique. Read more on this site.

Environment for Young Europeans website

http://www.ec.europa.eu/environment/youth/index_en.html

On this website you can discover by yourself or together with your friends and classmates what the environment is and what is happening to it. It focuses on four themes that are very important and which the European Union has decided to concentrate on for the next 10 years: air, water, waste and nature.

The Britain_Australia Society

http://www.britain-australia.org.uk/epals.htm

E-Pals - The Britain-Australia Society and its sister organisation, The Australia-Britain Society, have launched a scheme to link school children in Australia and Britain via email. A number of schools are already operating the scheme, the most recent being St. John's College in Southsea with Balgowlah Heights Public School in New South Wales. Their ambition is to achieve 100% E-pals ('pen friend') contact between the children of Britain and the children of Australia.

http://www.ipfeurope.com

INTERNATIONAL PEN FRIENDS (IPF) has over 300,000 members aged from 8 to 80 in 192 countries, and can provide you with new friends from all around the world.   IPF does not match penpals via the internet, the main objective of the club is to keep the art of letter writing alive and to use this form of communication to encourage worldwide friendship. However, many members eventually combine e-mail and other forms of communication with their letter writing.
